DANAE - Moissanite Ring

Ring with moissanite [iced-out], inspired by Danae, a character from Greek mythology. She was the daughter of the king of Argos, Acrisius, and the mother of the famous hero Perseus. According to legend, the oracle had predicted that Danae would be the mother of a son who would kill Acrisius. Acrisius, to protect himself, locked Danae in a bronze tower, where she remained for many years. However, Zeus, the king of the gods, fell in love with her and appeared to her in the form of a shower of gold, impregnating her with Perseus. When Perseus was born, Acrisius discovered that he had been tricked by the oracle and, fearing for his life, sent both Danae and Perseus away in a boat. The story of Danae is often interpreted as a metaphor for the struggle of man against destiny and his determination to escape it.
